PPC-Butler Updates: How your Butler keeps evolving

PPC-Butler does not stand still. We release regular updates that are guided by the wishes of our customers. Here you can see every new feature one by one – and what it saves you in your daily work with Amazon Advertising.

Why this log

You are not just choosing a tool, you are choosing how it develops

You do not buy an Amazon Advertising tool for today only. You want to know whether it keeps pace with your requirements – and whether someone listens when something is missing.

That is exactly what this log shows. You see every new feature one by one, with the latest at the top. The order follows our update announcements to customers. Many of them go back to feedback and requests from our users.

Read from top to bottom and you quickly see where things are heading: a better overview in reporting, finer control through rules and KPIs, less manual work in campaign setup, and a direct line to your AI through the PPC-Butler MCP.

You can read who is behind the Butler under About PPC-Butler. What the tool does for your situation is shown on the pages for agencies, freelancers and sellers and vendors.

Update log

Every new feature in PPC-Butler – latest first

Each entry is a single new feature. The number counts down: the entry at the top is the most recent one.

  1. Update 29Reporting

Your account performance at a glance – compared with the previous period

The new Metrics page gives you an at-a-glance view of your Amazon Ads account's performance. You choose the last 7 or 30 days, this month or last month, or a custom range. Every number is compared with the previous period of the same length – or with a comparison period you pick yourself.

    • Impressions, clicks, CTR and CVR
    • Budget and utilization, spend and CPC
    • Sales, orders, ACOS and ROAS
    • Mini sparklines for sales and spend
  2. Update 28Reporting

From portfolio to keyword – without leaving the view

Campaigns, portfolios, products (ASINs), placements, ad formats, search terms, keywords and targetings sit in one view. Click a row to open the next level: from the portfolio through campaigns and ad groups down to keywords, targets, product ads and search terms. Every table can be exported as CSV.

  3. Update 27Reporting

See what a rule change actually did

The performance chart shows clicks, impressions, spend and sales over time. Bid, budget, placement and status changes made by your rules are marked right on the chart. You see what a change did instead of guessing.

  4. Update 26Reporting

Recognise on which weekday and at which hour your ads perform

A heatmap sets weekday against hour – for campaigns, portfolios, products, ad groups, keywords, targets and placements. You switch between conversions, sales, spend and ACOS. A colour legend, click-to-highlight and the current hour marked in the profile's time zone make it easy to read.

  5. Update 25Campaigns

Filter campaigns and edit the selection in one go

Filter campaigns by name, state, clicks, spend, sales, ACOS, ROAS or CTR and act on the result directly. Each of these bulk actions can be undone at any time.

    • Pause or activate campaigns
    • Increase, decrease or set the budget
    • Increase, decrease or set the bid
  6. Update 24Placements

Know which placement spends your money – and which one brings it back

The breakdown per placement shows its share of spend and sales, including the bid adjustment. On Sponsored Products campaigns you edit the bid adjustment right there.

  7. Update 23Traceability

Read up on every change to a campaign, without gaps

Click the number of changes on a campaign to open its full history: time and type of change, the rule set and rule that made it, old and new value, and the difference. The history can be filtered by bid, budget, products and placement.

  8. Update 22AI & MCP

Any AI program connects to your Butler right away

The PPC-Butler MCP is available at a new address. New AI programs – for example Claude, ChatGPT or VS Code – register themselves; we no longer have to enable each program manually. Add the connection, enter the address, sign in once: it only takes a minute. More on the PPC-Butler MCP page.

  9. Update 21AI & MCP

Before you sign in, you see which application is asking for access

Before you sign in, a confirmation page shows you which application is requesting access to your PPC-Butler account and where it will send you back afterwards. You decide with open eyes who gets access.

  10. Update 20AI & MCP

An MCP address that stays stable

Technical changes in our background system no longer affect your configuration.

  11. Update 19Campaign setup

Define your campaign structure once as a template instead of rebuilding it every time

With campaign management, creating and rolling out campaigns is much simpler and more clearly structured. Under the menu item Create template you define your campaign structure centrally and flexibly – including products, keywords and a preview.

  12. Update 18Campaign setup

Run your setups and keep track of every campaign created

Under the menu item Created campaigns you run your setups and keep an overview of all campaigns that came out of them. This gives your automation a clean foundation.

  13. Update 17Campaign setup

Step by step into campaign setup – with videos right at the menu item

Campaign management comes with a two-part video series that you open inside the tool, right at the respective menu item. Part I covers basics and preparation, Part II the concrete implementation in the template.

  14. Update 16KPIs

Product variables and change KPIs now also for placements and campaign budgets

A request from our users: product variables and change KPIs are now available for placements and campaign budgets as well, without restrictions. You adjust placements only once new clicks have come in since the last change – and you control campaign budgets with the product variables you already maintain.

  15. Update 15KPIs

Measure visibility as a share instead of estimating impressions

Impression share is available as a KPI in your rules for Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands. Visibility is relative: an absolute number of impressions says little as long as you do not know the rest of the market. With the share you see which targets are really dropping out of your audience's field of view.

    • Steer launch phases, even without the keyword tracker
    • Reactivate targets that are slowly losing visibility
    • Find targets without visibility using a real relative value
  16. Update 14KPIs

Protect new targets before a clean-up rule catches them

The targetCreated KPI tells you how old a target is. You build up new targets more deliberately and do not pause them too early. If you regularly clean up your account with a rule, you simply exclude freshly created keywords from it.

    • Treat newly harvested keywords separately
    • Tell manually added targets from freshly transferred ones
  17. Update 13KPIs

Analyse units ordered, not just orders

In addition to orders, units ordered are now available. Compare the two values and you find the targets where customers more often buy more than one item.

  18. Update 12Traceability

See at a glance which rule fired how often

You see which rule fired how often in the last 7 days – and which keyword was handled by that rule, and how often. The tedious filtering of the update overview is no longer needed.

  19. Update 11Rules

Create and edit groups and Everys directly from the rule

You create and edit groups and Everys directly from within the rule.

  20. Update 10Rules

New actions: deliberately leave targets untouched

New actions are available for your rules: ignore, and targets without a bid change.

    • The “Ignore” action
    • Handling of targets without a bid change
  21. Update 09Dayparting

Dayparting V2: more room for rules by time of day and weekday

Dayparting rules work with an improved logic. The new logic extends what you can control by time of day and weekday.

  22. Update 08Rules

One rule set for all marketplaces and clients

With the global rule set you maintain one rule set for all marketplaces or all clients. You enter a change to your strategy once instead of repeating it account by account.

  23. Update 07Keyword tracker

Keyword tracker with a unified menu

The keyword tracker has a new, unified menu. You find your way around tracking more quickly.

  24. Update 06Keyword tracker

    Keyword tracker supports parents

The keyword tracker now supports parents.

  25. Update 05Performance

Done faster, even when many bids change at once

The Butler works with improved performance when there are many bid changes. This matters most in large accounts where a single run touches a great many bids.

  26. Update 04Rules

Duplicate rule sets instead of rebuilding them

Rule sets can be duplicated. A proven rule set becomes your starting point for a variant, without recreating it rule by rule.

  27. Update 03Rules

Add a forgotten condition to all rules

There is a new workflow for the case that a condition was forgotten in all rules.

  28. Update 02KPIs

Raise bids only when the product behind them performs well

At our users' request, portfolio KPIs are available in rules. If your portfolios are organised by product, you base bid and budget decisions on the performance of the whole product – not just on that of a single target.

    • Raise keywords without visibility only when product performance is right
    • Cut ad waste when the portfolio's ACoS is too high
    • Scale or cap budgets based on portfolio data
    • With strong portfolio sales, deliberately lower bids only slightly
  29. Update 01KPIs

Use KPIs per placement in your rules

Besides the portfolio KPIs, you now also have access to the individual KPIs per placement. You judge a placement by its own numbers instead of the campaign average.

The PPC Butler is not a black box. The PPC Butler is not a black box, you can easily map your workflow and then let everything run on autopilot. For us, it’s the best tool we’ve tested so far.

Super support + excellent tool. We can recommend the tool with a very clear conscience. We have been using the Butler for more than 4 months now and it does exactly what we want it to do. You should allow for a training period. The support is second to none! Anyone who has ever been in contact with the Butlers will know what I mean, it’s just great!

5 stars for PPC-Butler. I rarely give a review, but for PPC Butler I’m happy to! Pascal and Uwe do an incredibly good job! They have an open ear for every question and help directly.

PPC tool that is not a black hole. I have been using PPC Butler to manage my ads on Amazon for several months now. Even though the menu navigation and the functions were a little cumbersome and not intuitive at first, the tool is convincing. If you use the rule sets provided as an aid, you can quickly and easily mirror your workflows in PPC Butler. Once everything was set up properly and tested. Since then, the Butler has been running on autopilot for me. It’s the first tool that is completely transparent and only does what you specify as rules. The price-performance ratio is right here and the service is also extremely fast, helpful and friendly. For me, it’s the best PPC tool on the market.
